CHANGE A LIFE

ONE CAN OR DOLLAR AT A TIME

Hosting a food and/or fund drive is simply one of the greatest impacts you can make when it comes to filling hungry bellies. They’re also a great way to have fun as a family, group of friends, student group, or organization. Plus, hosting a drive is easy peasy – and we’ll help!

What kind of drive will you host? This is the first question you will want to answer. A traditional food drive is where you ask people to donate nonperishable food items, a fund drive is where you ask people to give monetary donations, or you can do a combination of the two and let people decide how they want to contribute. You may also think about holding an online donation drive where you put the power of social media to work!

Tips for Hosting a Successful Drive

  • Register your drive with us  – we can help promote it, offer donation bins, provide hunger facts and more
  • Set a goal – decide how many pounds of food or dollars you will raise by a certain date. Setting a goal will get people excited about your drive
  • Set a date range – we find most drives are 1-2 weeks in length
  • Pick a location – you will want to select a high-traffic area where donation bins can easily be seen and a place where monetary donations are safe
  • Have a promotions plan – get people excited about donating by creating a contest, holding an auction, “selling” raffle tickets, etc.
  • Take pictures & share results – we love to see drives in action and hear how successful they are; please email us with pictures and results so we can share them too!
